Yonaka is from the misty mountains of Honyama, in Shizuoka, known as Japan's Southern Alps. The region is famed for cedar groves, mineral-rich soil, and clear rivers. The natural shading of the dense mountain fog elicits tea with soft, smooth flavors, bright color, and a clear aroma that reminds you of the mountains. Yonaka in particular is a careful, beautiful blend of Okumidori, Saemidori, Inaguchi, and Yabukita cultivars to make a signature profile to be enjoyed excellently whisked plain, or in a latte. It has a nice fresh aroma, and is slightly floral with a soft sweetness. It has a clean umami flavor and is a refined sip. The tea is 100% shade-grown tencha, slowly stone-milled, non-GMO, certified radiation-free, certified heavy-metal-free.
